The Embassy of the Republic of Liberia announces, with profound regret, the passing of Mr. Philip Dean Emmanuel Gbadyu, a former officer who served at the Court of St. James’s as Minister Counsellor for Information, Press and Tourism.
Mr. Gbadyu was assigned to the Embassy in 1985 and served with diligence, integrity and distinction, including throughout the difficult years of Liberia’s civil conflict. During his more than twenty-five years of service to the Embassy, he earned the admiration and deep respect of colleagues and the wider Liberian community.
He will be remembered for the high standards and dignity with which he conducted himself, as well as for his civility, elegance and commitment to excellence. He was a true example of dedicated public service.
Mr. Gbadyu leaves to mourn his passing, and to celebrate his life and homegoing, six children, eight grandchildren, family members, friends and colleagues.
On behalf of the Embassy, its staff, and Her Excellency Genevieve A. Kennedy, heartfelt condolences are extended to the children, grandchildren and family of Mr. Gbadyu during this immeasurable loss.
May the Lord grant the bereaved family strength and comfort during this difficult time. May he rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
