As part of established diplomatic protocol upon assuming her duties, Her Excellency Ambassador Genevieve A. Kennedy, Liberia’s newly accredited envoy to United Kingdom, paid a courtesy call on the Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps on the 10/05/2025.

The meeting, was both cordial and purposeful. It served to formally introduce Her Excellency to the protocol apparatus of the host nation, as well as to facilitate her integration into the diplomatic corps. Discussions during the call focused on procedural matters, including the forthcoming presentation of Letters of Credence to the Head of State—a ceremony which formally recognizes an ambassador’s status and authorizes the full discharge of diplomatic functions. The Vice Marshal also outlined the key elements of the host country’s diplomatic protocol framework, covering areas such as participation in state functions, engagement with the wider diplomatic corps, and matters of precedence.

Ambassador Kennedy expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties and promoting mutual interests. She further underscored the importance of sustained dialogue, cooperation, and the shared values that underpin diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

Ambassador Kennedy is expected to present her credentials soon and commence a program of strategic outreach across political, economic, and cultural sectors.
