President Boakai presents a vision for Liberia’s transformation

 

– H.E. Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz hails Liberia’s democratic gains and congratulates new leadership.

A colourful inauguration was held on the grounds of the Capitol Building on Monday, January 22, 2024, in Monrovia. The former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. assumed the oath of office as Liberia’s 26th President.

     

 

The event witnessed yet another peaceful transfer of authority from one democratically elected government to another. The ceremony was attended by heads of state, diplomats, and dignitaries worldwide.

H.E. Gurly Gibson Schwarz, Ambassador of The Embassy of Liberia in London, extends her heartfelt congratulations on behalf of everyone at the Embassy to H.E. Joseph Boakai President of the Republic of Liberia and H.E. Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Vice President of the Republic of Liberia.

H.E. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. delivered an inspiring inaugural address, pledging his commitment to promoting “equality, equal access to justice, and equal opportunities” for all in Liberia. (H.E. President Joseph Boakai, 2024)

H.E. Joseph Boakai also expressed an eagerness to work “with members of the Legislature” to advance the needs of the people of Liberia. The Liberian Chief Executive also heralded the importance of national unity and extending “development to the whole country.”
